Where Do I Advertise My Website On Here?

Hi all,

I just launched my first website where people can contact me to make them a custom pen. As well as that I am going to be posting my weekly pen making updates, which is a sort of blog of my pen making disasters and triumphs. I plan do put reviews of pens, paper and ink on there too. So my question is this:

I am not sure about the etiquette on here, where would I post a link to this site?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Unless you go for paid for adverts, I think the most effective way is to become a regular contributor and have the advert in your signature line - as you have done. That way every time you make a comment, help someone, give advice, you're making a new -free- advert. It is possible to add an image to the signature to make it more attractive.

The next way is to sell pens on FPN through the classified ads.

Regards,

Richard

Ah thanks guys. Yeah I figured out the signature line bit after I posted this question.

On a seperate note looking at your info on the left of your posts:

Aysedasi - my mum lives in the new forest :)

Richard - A lot of my family comes from kent. :)

Note that you need to be here 30 days and have at least 30 posts before you can sell on FPN in the classifieds. Any attempt to get around this rule is likely to see your post hidden, and repeated attempts will get you suspended. The reason for this is to give members a chance to get to know you, and to discourage people who join only to sell, which is not the primary purpose of FPN.

You'll find out the details in the rules and guidelines. There's a drop down menu at the top of the page.

I think that's OK. The concern is with starting threads promoting product or services either outside of the proper forum, and/or before you qualify. But a link in your signature line shouldn't be a problem. I'll contact you by PM with some suggestions.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
