You can buy glass bottles everywhere, I am sure they will add some stickers if you ask.

The price is really great, you can then provide samples to all your friends. :)

PP is much lighter.

I know, but I'm trying to pretend that there is only small glass bottles - I'm already up to 10 colours on the wish list, and I haven't finished looking :)

There are only 20 colours, might as well get them all and then decide which ones you want to use. biggrin.png

That's just rationalising my addiction to pens and ink and how I ended up with several medium sized Really Useful boxes full of ink and more of the large sized ones full of pens and notebooks and cartridges and converters - you can see where this is going :lticaptd:

True dat

The internet has made it just too easy to get anything from anywhere.

So far I'm up to about 11 bottles on the wish list; happily for my bank balance there's a few I don't like, not enough to make a significant difference.

On the positive side, you saved £41 to spend elsewhere. biggrin.png

Now the question is where to spend the pennies, I have lists so now it's just a case of narrowing things down and enjoying the fact that I've got all that spare cash I didn't know about :)

That is exactly the 'dumb' logic that has got me into enough trouble but somehow it feels convenient to carry on. biggrin.png

Nearly, I should have it done by tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. Just procrastinating over a couple of duplicates.

I wouldn't bother with duplicates until you have tried them, else every duplicate bottle is a potential waste.

Colour accuracy is always an issue on screen unless it has been calibrated.

I'm really interested in their Ultramarine. Looks like a great looking blue. And that orange looks great. And the purple. But shipping is so much! I kind of want try the big 250ml bottles to help spread out the shipping cost.

Would anyone be interested in maybe purchasing some of it if I were to do the big bottle order thing? I have lots of empty small ink bottles (the Pelikan style 30ml bottles).

I agree but then I always end up wishing I had bought an extra bottle so these days I just buy the extra bottle; if I don't like it I'll probably PIF it. It's good for my Karma :D

That's one way to speed up Karma points. biggrin.png

OTOH, count me in for the first PIF ink. I am willing to offer 3x Karma points.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
