Constellations88 Any Good?

While searching for a vegan friendly but quality pen case I came across an old post about a brand called Constellations88 which makes cases that are vegan friendly and look pretty good (not perfect, I'd prefer a less obvious logo, but we vegans can't be too picky). The case I'm looking at is here: http://www.constellations88.com/c88-triple-pen-pocket-carrier.html (they also offer a 2 sleeve case).

My question is: does anyone have any experience with these cases? Are they good quality?

In particular I've found that a lot of vegan leather products are a bit flimsy. They will look good and feel nice when you first get them, but within a few months are showing abrasions and starting to fall apart. I'd like a case that will last me a long time.

I have no experience with this product, but I like the looks and price.

I agree. It is (when shipping is included) just slightly more than I can justify as an experiment though. Hopefully someone around here will have used one.

Just to update in case anyone else looks for this in the future: I received a black three pen case from constellations88 yesterday. I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality. The size is good and the interior seems soft enough. The faux-leather is quite convincing and the back and front have had plastic inside them so that it maintains its shape. The star logo on the front is less obvious in person than on the website (which I take to be a good thing).

I will update and post some photos once I've used it for a little while so I can gauge how likely it is to last.

As a further follow up: unfortunately this pen case seems to be leaving scratches on the cap and body of both the pens I've been keeping in it, a Pilot Metal Falcon and a Platinum 3776. I can't be sure the scratches are from the case, but they have appeared since I've been keeping these pens in it and I haven't changed anything else about how I'm using them that would explain the scratches.

I'm going to see if I can add a softer lining of some sort to the case, but I would advise against buying one of these cases if you have pens that are easily scratched or particularly expensive (especially now that the vegan Esterbrook cases are available).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
