London Pen Show

I've been looking forward to this for months. Here's a link:

London Pen Show

I've talked the missus into coming with me as well, I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, but at least it means I don't have to worry about being on the receiving end of violence when I get home.

Anybody else planning on coming along to this?

I've been looking forward to this for months.

So was I, but since I've just come back from London, not sure if I'll be back in time for the show :( .

If indeed I won't get to go, please take some pics and give a short review of how it was/will be. Many thanks in advance. ;)

You can't always get what you want... but if you try sometimes... you just might find... you'll get what you need...

Boing!

I'm still going. I must remember to dig out my old camera and charge it up so I can take some picks. Is it considered okay to snap away at people's tables? I intend asking before taking pictures where possible, though.

I'll be there with a table. Anyone who wants to come and fill one of their new pens (or one of their old ones!) with Noodlers will be welcome to with my compliments, while stocks last. I'll have a small number of bottles for sale and some order forms for when stock runs out.

I've never been to a show before, either as a buyer or seller, so please be gentle with me!

Stompy, I'll look forward to reading your review because I've never been to a pen show and can't make the London Pen Show. Presuming there's still a Northern Pen Show next April then I might just try to get along to that.

[HIJACK]Permanently or work related, ephemeral stay? [/HIJACK] To minimize the hijack, just a one word answer is sufficient. "Perm" or "Work"

Seriously, though, I move for pictures, also. They are a boon to those who can't make shows for whatever reasons. :( I promise that if we make the San Francisco show next month, I'll takes lots of people pictures with my trusty cheapie digital camera and post 'em back here. :D

May have to mortgage our home to afford the gas, petrol, benzine,!

Hi Roger,

It wouldn't be the first time, either . The years I spent in the UK I was self-employed .

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
