I acquired an Esterbrook Dollar Pen in hard rubber this weekend, one that I didn't even know existed. The nib was nothing special, a 1550 that had a broken tine, so nib meister Mark Bacas ground it to what is effectively a medium-fine italic. I purposely didn't say BHR because it is uniformly brown in color.

For love of it. And yet not waste time either.

Nice pen!  I think you can tell the BHR pens by the shape of the lever.   At least yours is uniform, and looks pretty clean.  I have one that isn't quite so nice.

The lever is shaped like the bottom of a tie. My only concern is that the lever doesn't hold tight to the barrel, but will hang out about 1/8" just enough to catch if one is not careful. Worth the $25 I think.
