I have always been scared to use Noodler's in any pen...I know they make good inks and bad ones as well.

I think pen manufacturers are more consistent with their ink...not saying that they don't have problematic inks.

Also contamination...if you can't take a pen apart to do a through cleaning when you change ink brands.

I would love to try BayState Blue...with my luck I will have blue all over the house...wife will kill me.

 

I tend to use only waterproof inks. I won't use BSB in a MB but I have in a M200 and Lamy without issue.

Lexington grey is often used in MB pens.

 

My pens are cleaned every 2-3 weeks irrespective of the ink.

Engineer :

Someone who does precision guesswork based on unreliable data provided by those of questionable knowledge.

Agreed, but there is also a massive range between MB and cheap which is also hassle free.

FWIW, I frequently use Noodler's in MB LE pens. biggrin.png

 

I understand your point and agree with you except, for me, Noodler's inks are in the troublesome range. While I like the colors, the formulation does not work well with all of my pens. But most of all, I am overly sensitive to the odor of most Noodler's inks. Over the years, I have tried dozens of Noodler's inks. Recently, I tried another sample of Apache Sunset and Texas Bluebonnet (a Droomgooles special) and could not use them for longer than 5 minutes because of the odor. Instant migraine. Some Diamine, J. Herbin and Sailor inks are like that for me as well. And I can not use any "scented" inks for the same reason.

Just got a new bottle of MB Lavender Purple...sometime I add a little MB Midnight Blue to darken it up.

Definitely getting a MB Gandhi vibe from this packaging! Of course, I don't know what the actual ink will look like on paper, but the orange bottle and white label reminded of the infamous ink.

Two sides of me emerge on this:

 

Cynical: a meaningless revamp that will likely precede more price increases

 

Hopeful: a meaningful shift to expand a reliable lineup. Maybe even a permanent blue-black? Pretty please?

Does anyone know if Royal Blue is staying in the line up.

 

My second color is Midnight Blue?

 

I use both for drawing up contracts and they are my primary inks I use daily depending upon mood.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
