Sailor will increase its prices from April, says nibs.com in their newsletter. No announcement yet on the Sailor homepage - at least, I didn't found it - searching with a mobile phone is just cumbersome.

If increase in price is 10-15%, then i think it is too high a hike in price.

 

I thought of buying a sailor KOP after 3 months. Now i have to shell out more or defer my purchase and go for alternate brand.

I love them, but I have enough Sailors. As with their inks, I will use the price increase to secure my resolve not to buy any more of their products. Not being snippy, just making a decision. Maybe I'll sell a few, and someone who wanted one at the lower price can still do it.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
