Just joined the community and thought I'd pop in here and introduce myself. I am a college administrator in my late 20's, and I just got into fountain pens recently. I got bit pretty hard by the hobby, I started with a pilot metropolitan and then bought a TWSBI Eco a couple weeks ago. Two days ago I bought a Pilot Metal Falcon SF on Ebay. It was a lot of thought, but I wanted a pen that had the ability to do line variation and when I saw the price of the Metal Falcon I couldn't pass it up. I'm getting it on Monday and I can't wait to ink it up and try it out. Now I'm starting to fall down a rabbit hole in terms of inks, I want them all.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
