Hello,

i'm new in this forum. I've got several sheaffer's pen and pencils.

I can't find any information on this desk set :

Do you know if this set is an original Sheaffer ? Is the pen is the right pen in this set ?

Yes it is a Sheaffer set.  The date I would attribute to the set would make the pen likely correct to the set.  Sometime in the 1950's.

Something from the 1950's.  It is possible that it is in the fat touchdown range so you'd be wise to measure the diameter of the pen you have.  If it is thin you could go with a snorkel pen.

My mind is still boggling at the idea of a /portable/ desk pen.

Don't think I'd attempt a fountain pen in that unit. It could be okay /in use/, but what do you do when travelling with that case?

Wonder if that stem could be chucked in a drill/lathe and fine sandpaper or cloth with buffing compound could smooth out that mistreated taper.
