It's a Sheaffer Intrigue.

 

They are getting fairly expensive now, so if you want to buy it, I'd say pay less than a 100 pounds for it.

 

BTW: The pen is not a touchown filler.

The Sheaffer service people really disliked this pen - not well made, lots of glue, lots of repairs. They told us that they told the designers that it was going to be a problem pen, and were proved right.

 

The pens take the standard Sheaffer cartridges, but not converters. The end of the piston converter made for the pen had teeth cut into it to engage with those on the grip knob, and they always strip. They're now higher in price than the Sheaffer slim converters.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
