Sf Pen Posse Today (March 3)

FarmBoy

Recommended Posts

I went to Peters for some peace and quiet only to find out that there was a posse today.

All the usual stuff about keeping or tossing the boxes, what pens did you get this week, does this ink make my pen look fat, etc.

AND NO I don't want to come to your house and listen to records.

Someone, really needs post posses so I know what is going on ...

Over on Another Web Site I may read a posting from lsmith42, describing his experience at Peter's as Quiet Edition, and saying he's enjoying being at Peter's without a lot of people. OK, I hope he enjoyed a pretty much empty room.

Here we have FarmBoy, same day, same place, up to the neck in a seething cauldron of pen activities. Of course it may be like traffic jams in Southern California, occurring at any time of day or night, without reason, just the workings of random numbers or something else my younger self knew about. Pen Posse may emerge from let's say Brownian motion or statistical noise..

It is of course possible that both Todd and Loren are expressing their keen sense of humor and neither of them was anywhere near Peter's on March 3. Thinking about this, I am in some kind of reality well beyond either virtual or augmented. I can only wish ethenautrix were back.

Yes we miss her a lot ¿where is she?, fpn is boring.

She has moved to Poland, and lives in the city formerly called Breslau. She hasn't entirely deserted us. She does post messages from time to time, and still visits family in the United States. Apart from the enjoyment of her company if she were still here, I think there would be regular announcements of Pen Posse lunches if she were still here.

Oh man... I miss Pen Posse. Hi, Jerome! How's the City?

I'm "in talks" with Tom Westerich, hoping to arrange a Pen Salon for pen people in Wrocław (should he not make it to Pen Show Poland, which is held the same weekend this year as two other shows in Europe). Tom will surely be a magnet for pen people. *Smiley face*

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
