What Model? School Pen But M-Like Nib?

Clearly a school pen but looks like a M-style nib. Don't have it in my hands yet but guessing nib is friction fit. Any ideas what it is??

The feed looks similar to the feed in the Pelikan 2000, so it may be a variation on that model or at least from that era. Did thet not do a Nature series around then?

The nib and feed look similar to the P2000 from the late 1990s (98/99). Likely from around that time frame though doesnt have the exact same look as those pens.

Wow, good leads and thanks to all. With your help I was able to find that it looks like a 2003 Italian model known as "Fancy" Information here https://www.pelikan-collectibles.com/en/Pelikan/Surroundings/Models-wo-name/index.html

That is an interesting pen. With the pen in hand maybe you can sent them the spec on yours to update the site.

I like the transparent section with colorful body. Did you find it at pen show?

No, found on eBay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-PELIKAN-FOUNTAIN-PEN-FERN-DESIGN-GREEN-VERY-UNUSUAL-TRANSPARENT/401706784582?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

If it is transparent, it is a variation of the Pelikan 2000. The Pelikan 2000s I have are all transparent blue with the more traditional shape to mimic a piston end.

Just as I think there are many more later Pelikano type pens (model P10, P20, P25) I have seen that aren't mentioned, I am sure there are also variations of the 2000 that aren't mentioned.

I have both, the red and the green, as depicted in the pelikan-collectible pages. They aren't frankenpens, they were sold in a pelikan-branded blister about 15 years ago. Good workhorses, the nib is a wet M very pleasant to write with. Well worth the price, if I remember correctly something like 7 or 8 euros at that time.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
