Hello From Lahore

Hello, Hi, Salam

I have joined the network today. Its great that my registration is validated. I owned a lot of pens but currently have 11 fountain pens available with me. I must add that I gave away many pens as well as lost a few in past 12 years. My quest started with Montblanc 145 back in 2007. I wanted to buy the best and that was the best one could buy in Lahore then. I still have it and I love it. Must add that I like Broad and Medium nibs. Not a fine nib person.

My Current Pens

1. Montblanc 145

2. Pilot Metropolitan

3. Lamy Studio

4. Lamy Al Star

5. Parker IM Insignia

6. Parker Frontier

7. Waterman Hemisphere

8. Sheaffer Sagaris

9. Sheaffer Fashion 240

10. Platinum Century 3776

11. Cross Bailey Medallion

As all brands are not available in my country so I got my Platinum 3776 after ordering at cultpens.com. The service was excellent. Right now I ordered a twsbi diamond on gouletpen.com. Lets hope its service is also that good. Pens on my radar are Sailor 1911 and Pelikan M400. Lets see how it all shapes up.

Warm regards to all

Welcome to our corner of the universe.

Waalaikum Salam

I think youll find that Goulet offers stellar service. The shipping times might be a little too long compared to cultpens.

Im originally from Karachi now living in San Francisco area. I used to buy a lot of stuff from Goulet in the past. Not so much nowadays because I have too many pens and inks. Jetpens and anderson pens are also quite good and have a faster transit time in shipping to my location.

Do you practice writing in urdu as well, with a calligraphy nib? I didnt see Dollar pens on your list, its a very low cost Pakistani brand with surprisingly good quality.

Once again, welcome from all of us.

Greetings and welcome to FPN from Islamabad, Pakistan.

Next you need a good old Parker 51, Dr sahib. Else, you are not a real penlover. :D

Welcome. How do you like the Waterman Hemisphere? I have two Watermans (Laureat and Phileas) but they are from before the year 2000.

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

Many thanks brother. Good to know you. The transit time is 3-4 days either from cult or Goulet. The problem is the taxes that almost doubles the price along with high charges from DHL or FedEx. Naturally I cant use all pens all the time but I have a few favourites while the rest, rest in my pen cases.

Regards

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
