I see this on many good products.

Mainly because: "What's there to be changed?"

Yes, I understand, but I think that the Meisterstück line could be rejuvenated, maybe coming back to a more flat-top form. I have now four 146 and two 149,I would like to add something new :D

With Rhodium trim

I agree with the rodium trim, also the three ring with the Montblanc Meisterstück should be a bit more flat, i.e. less convex.

Actually the 13x serie was a flat top while the 14x serie is cigar shape, if Montblanc goes to flat top then isn't it mainly going back to the 13x series (which I like way more)?

Back would be good ! Flat top would be good . Stripes in color would be good . Marbled would be good . Back to the older , lighter filling mechanism would be good Back would not in my opinion be a bad direction .

Hello Franco,

the 13x series was quite streamlined, and not a true flat-top. Of course I would be happy to see the new Meisterstück line come back to that series.

I’d like to see a matte finish

But then I might confuse it with my Chanel mascara which now comes in a matte tube *grin*

I would like to see a larg-ish sized flat top, black, gold rings, tie shaped clip, plain cap and piston nib and a shiny watered silk effect barrel and blue ink window.

Am I being too precise?

I doubt that we'll see the "159" Meisterstueck pens anytime soon, if ever.

Montblanc has started other, more up-to-date lines like the Starwalkers and M series, and the entire fountain pen market has changed radically since the mid-1960s, when ballpoint (and other cartridge-with-tip styles like fineliner, rollerball, and the more recent gel ink) pens really took over the market.

INK (noun): A villainous compound of tannogallate of iron, gum-arabic and water,

chiefly used to facilitate the infection of idiocy and promote intellectual crime.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
