Another New Pen For Christmas - Petit Prince

... The store manager did say it was released for the 'Happy Holidays' season, well in this case for Christmas. Perhaps it was released in limited quantities as he said there was only 15 copies in UK. If you really want it, I could ask the store if they could ship it over to you (if they have any left)? ...

Kelvw,

That would be great news for me, please do, if I could communicate with them through email & if they can ship it to me to Australia that would be awesome (apparently the Montblanc Boutique in Sydney & Melbourne can't order it as they can't find it in their catalogs. I would just be happy to purchase it directly from where you got it. Drop me a PM regarding their email so I could communicate with them just in case they are willing. Again, thanks.

I'll going to the boutique tomorrow. I'll get the manager's email and will message you. I dropped by 2 days ago and was told the store has sold out but they have a few more copies in the other locations. However just that you are aware, the book is pretty pricey. It's a mark up from the usual #149 sketchbook but then you'll get tax free out of UK.

Andy, I just asked the boutique. Unfortunately they don't ship abroad, sorry.

They said the sketchbook is an one off thing. Most likely just for the UK, hence it's not on the catalogues. Guess I got lucky in getting a copy. I should have gotten 2 copies instead lol

I'm based in Birmingham. It is worth checking in London but I'm not sure which boutique would have them in stock.

Hi Andy,

I bought mine from David Jones on Christmas. I have just checked their stock and they still have some Petit Prince fountain pens (M nib) available. Check them out :D!!!

Also if you have the entertainment book, you can buy some DJ gift cards to get the 10% discount lol.

Hi Babytired,

Thank you for reminding me about the entertainment book, completely forgot about that, Unfortunately I was looking for the Le Petit Prince 149 Sketchbook, and I remember early last December, DJ had a 10-20% off on all of the Montblanc FP,BP, RB and inks, plus the notebooks that they had (except wallet & perfumes). I was able to purchase the Sartorial Foldable (red) pen pouch for AUD$ 110 or 120, if I recall correctly, sadly the le petite prince le grand is just a bit crowded when I placed it in, so it ended up in storage for when the day comes when I decide to get a smaller pen. I was alerted about the sale through the Australian FP facebook group.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
