Thank you so much for letting me join your little group. I hope to learn a lot more. I have been using fountain pens most of my life and started actually collecting them in the last 15 years. I have about 50 or so right now, too many. I don't like to have a pen that I can not use, to me they are things of beauty but also have a function. I love inks too, I might be an ink whore. At this point I am trying to figure out how to tweak my profile (I even opened the help file) to no avail so if someone could help me through that process I would be appreciative.

Nice to finally be a member instead of just lurking.

Everyone just calls me pooh so you can too.

G'day from Darwin Pooh! My guess is that you can't tweak your profile until you move up the membership scale a little, being a newbie I have the same problem with my profile :)

I lived in San Diego for about 7 years or so in the late 80's early 90's love it! Wish I was at Balboa today.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy.       I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
