ebay has been absolutely (bleep) during this entire process. The seller's return address was incorrect in the case and ebay would not allow them to update it. On top of it, eBay informed me that if I ship it to any other address (even one provided by the seller as a correction in the messages) then I'd not be covered in the case of a dispute by the seller.

So this dragged out the process by a few weeks. I contacted eBay numerous times and was told conflicting information during every contact.

About a week ago, they closed the case in my favor without me returning the pen! Then they, just as abruptly, opened it and closed it against me claiming that I failed to return the pen even after the seller provided an updated address via ebay messages!!!

I had to talk to a few different representatives, but in the end found the one who realized what was happening. They allowed me to return the pen to the updated address and it's been received by the seller. Just waiting on eBay to issue the refund.

Good luck. I'm confident you'll and I will get our money back. eBay just made this extremely complicated for no reason.

Argh! Im in the process of returning a 142 that was not at all as described. I hope all goes well

eVilbay strikes again :ninja: I sold a few items years ago before deciding that it was a terrible place to do business as a seller. It is unfortunate to see them being terrible to buyers as well.

Yes, the seller just relisted it. Also, the description has not been updated and still claims that the pen is in great shape.

eBay is yet to process the refund since the seller has not marked this as delivered. Even the tracking information says delivered but eBay is just not willing to issue the refund.

Is it being offered on ebay again currently?

I agree with Michaels assessments. My guess is there was a crack at the end of the original threads and the repair person trimmed them. Perhaps the warping in the window came from heat misapplied?

This is the correct interpretation of the issue.

Hard times don't last, but hard people do.

Thank a Veteran.

I am concerned about the same thing. Do let us know how it goes. Thanks

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
