I purchased an EF Conklin nib to replace a Conklin F nib in my modern Conklin Crescent. The new nib is bigger than the older and the feed is very different. 1. Will the new nib fit? 2. How do I detach the newer nib from its feed? Thanks.

I don't know of a conklin EF nib being made. Can you share some pictures?

 

from what I know the crescent uses a standard conklin #6 nib in F, M, and stub. They should pull straight out of the housing without issue.

My understanding was that the new Crescents all use a number six nib, so it's surprising that you report a replacement unit being larger.

 

After Yafa bought the rights to Conklin they made many changes. It would indeed be helpful if you posted some pics :D

They are indeed making extra fine nibs now! Yay!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
