Pelikan Vintage P505/p510/p520 Fountain Pens, Anyone Have Used It Before?

So I found a website selling these pens at 21 dollars with five cartridges,

and I think it's a decent price and will try one of these.

The thing is, I have no idea what the differences among these three pens are

and if they fit in Pelikan converter as well.

Anyone have used them before?

I strongly recommend you to visit this site.

Very well built site and contains tons of helpful informations about Pelikan pens.

regards,

By the way, I have used P520 years age.

It's a good slim pen which writes smoothly, but later developed deep unrepairable crack in the section.

So sad.

Thanks a lot for the link. According to the page on the link,

it seems that P520 is a cartridge model, which means it does not fit in with a converter?

It's sad that your P520's got broken. Endlesspens.com is currently selling it for 21 dollars and

I guess you can use 10% promo code, so I think you can purchase one there if you need it.

I have no idea what the differences are among P505/P510/P520,

but I will just get P520.

Thanks a lot for your input.

They are all contemporaries in the Signum line. All are cartridge fillers from the 1980s. The only real differences between them are the trim style. They all have steel nibs. The only thing you need to choose between the 3 is which do you like better in terms of appearance because all other factors are equal. I have no personal experience with these but have heard they write well. I cant verify converter compatibility but I have seen it written that there was a model specific converter as the standard converter doesnt quite fit but Ive never verified that independently. Hope that helps you.

If it takes a cartridge it probably also takes a converter.

I am good with cartridges now, but maybe I can try using different converters to see if they fit in this pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
