Hello! I did a quick search and didn't see any posts about these pens, so I thought I'd post. I don't think there have been any posts about pens from the Philippines yet, though there are certainly several active FPN members from the Philippines! :)

 

Kasama is a small pen maker based in Manila. They've made one model so far, the Una, but in a variety of materials. If you scroll through their instagram, you'll see a lot of pretty cool one-offs, not all of which have ever been for sale. They even made their own micarta! (I really want the pink micarta... but they're not selling (yet?)).

Here are my two -- the left is acrylic with a delrin section, the right is in ultem. Apparently that's a super durable plastic. Pretty cool!

 

We did a full review, along with some comparison pics against some common pens in a similar size at Hand Over That Pen.

 

I've been carrying a Kasama Una on and off for a couple weeks, and the orange one for a few days this week (I just got it, it was new at the Manila Fountain Pen Show) -- they've been great so far. :D

 

Does anyone else on here have one?

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
