I now know that the pen you sent me is a Lorelei! It wrote well from the moment I inked it up, and I have learned of a marque I was previously unfamiliar with. My son wants to steal the pen from me, as he likes how it writes as well! ;) Thanks so much.

I just received what I believe is a Cross Apogee. I have only been using fountain pens for a couple of months and this will be my first gold nib pen! How awesome! I'm ordering a converter for it now.

I received my pen today! It is a lovely Elysee Globetrotter. As a geology student, a pen depicting the continents is quite apt :D Thank you again for your kindness! Interesting pens like this are what keep me going!

A quick update to those who are following this thread. I plan to do another PIF for the Christmas and currently I have ~10 pens gathered. So if you didn't win a pen from this PIF, there will be another chance soon. :)

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
