Fountain Pen Day Pif, Uscon

Hi everyone! I have accumulated many pens throughout the years and (not surprisingly) fail to use all of them regularly. So here comes the big PIF to celebrate the Fountain Pen Day. All of the pens in the picture are available for the PIF: Parker, Cross, Sheaffer, Kaweco..... Gold nibs and steel nibs, vintage and modern, just pretty much everywere. Rules are simple:

  • Reply to this thread to participate
  • Winners only pay actual postage
  • Pens are selected "randomly" but I'll make sure what you get worth the postage
  • The PIF ends next Friday (11/9) night
  • Around 12 winners will be drawn (that's a lot of winners and hopefully everyone will get something?)

Side notes:

  • USCON only because as now everyone knows, postage from the US will cost more than the lot combined
  • All pens are in working condition but they might have flaws like repaired parts/engravings/replaced nibs
  • Please be considerate and participate if you might appreciate what you'll get

Enjoy and definite jump in before searching for FPD coupons!

Thanks for the offer! Is it just me, or is the picture not showing? You might want to check on that.

I might be interested in this, but it would depend on what pens are available. Since I do have a variety of pens already, I only want to enter if there's a good chance of getting something new to me. If I already own a lot of what you have, I'll pass and let others have a better chance at winning. So could you check on the photo and/or list the available pens for us? Thanks!

Not an entry, just saying thank you for being generous.

+1 (also not an entry).

I figure that I might be buying pens this weekend at the Ohio Pen Show. I've already bought one en route, at an antiques store in Columbus: what looks like an Esterbrook Transitional J (flat bottom on the barrel but missing the jewel and tassie on the cap). If I can't get a replacement jewel, and the pen turns out to be toast, I'm still somewhat ahead because it had a 2442 nib on it (which was one of the nib units still on my wish list) -- and for less money than they're running on the Bay of Evil at the moment just for the nib....

Count me in!

BTW, this is a VERY VERY VERY generous PIF.

Seriously, you don't see someone just give away 12 pens at the same time!

Thanks Again!

What a generous offer. I'm in. I just started my fountain pen journey a couple of months ago, and I don't have any of those models.

Thanks again for your generosity.

Count me in and in return, I'll share a few more pens myself.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

+1 ... I have only been watching FPN for about 3 years and this is the most generous PIF I have yet seen.

My post is NOT and entry.

Count me in as well. I'm very fond of kaweco pens, and have a few others to pass on as soon as I get them cleaned up.

What a generous offer! I'd love to be considered for this. And that little black vintage pen left of center 😍 with the German clip (Kaweco?) has me enthralled, but I would of course be very grateful for any of them!

Thanks for fixing the picture in the original post. It looks like very few of the pens there, if any, are ones I own, so I'd like to enter. :) A vintage one might be nice, since I have no functioning vintage pens, but we'll see how the draw goes. Thanks very much for the offer!

Well, I did search and use FPD coupons before I saw this, but not for anything too expensive! Thank you for doing this. I would love to be included in the drawing. You have a nice collection there - I hope you're still keeping enough pens for yourself!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
