Cult Pens 10% Off For Fpd

How long does the P.O keep items before returning them? It is 18 days in the UK.

It depends. If a parcel gets 'carded', i.e. the postman leaves a card to tell you to go to the post office to collect it yourself (sometimes lying about having attempted delivery to the address but nobody was home to receive it), the card usually states, "Please collect within five days." I think the actual operating procedure is to allow ten business days, which would be (if worst comes to worst) just OK if my local post office 'starts the clock' on the day I fly out.

OTOH, which pen display case did you get?

Hmmm, I have no idea why that link wouldn't work when I click on it, but if I just pasted the URL into a browser window it works.

Lovely case in rosewood. Seems well made with attention to detail.

Would love to hear your views, once you receive it.

I am warming to the 151 pen and the 56 pen in black. Might treat myself to one of them next year.

The 151 is made of African Sapele wood whereas it does not state the wood on the 56.

The 151-pen display case looks great, but rather larger than I need for my pens (even though, with the additional twenty-odd pens I ordered in the past 48 hours, we'll be edging that number in total). I was also concerned about which wood is used in the 56-pen display case; and then, I'm not taken by the single knob/handle for each drawer thing.

A discussion with LCdC is warranted. ;) Ideally, the 151 pen in black.

Frankly, I haven't found LCdC customer service staff to be the most responsive, even though by no means did I receive poor service; they are just... fine. If Cult Pens or Bureau Direct in the UK had offered the same items on similar terms, I'd certainly prefer to have bought from them instead.

I agree although I have not tried Bureau Direct, yet.

No harm in giving LCdC CS a shot, might be a slow process but it's not an immediate purchase.

OTOH, will keep an eye out for something similar in the UK.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
