Graf Von Faber Castell Intuition Discontinued?

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know if the Intuition range of pens from Graf von faber castell has been discontinued? I don't see them listed on their website anymore, though they are for sale in some places.

I have the fluted ivory on my short list for a while now, and I don't want to wait before it's too late, but there are other special edition pens ahead of it on that list, that I "must" have also.

The Intuition woods are deprecated is what I was told at the store, not sure about the other flavours though, pity. The Intuition woods IMHO are really really nice and IMHO better than the normal Intuitions. In fact in certain aspects I prefer my intuition woods to the 240th Anniversary 1761-2001 Olive wood LE. I hope that GvFC will replace them with worthy Fps; would love to see their piston tec trickle down from the PoTY to others down the price-range. BTW, which special edition pens are you looking at, if I may know?

I think the wood ones are now effectively special editions - the ebony was dropped about 2 years ago, but then another dark hard wood version appeared and now appears to be gone again.

Given the growing restrictions on sourcing ebony, not much of a surprise. One needs good documentation to prove the wood was legally harvested these days.

Also, as Taylor Guitars discovered when they bought into an ebony mill in Africa -- many ebony trees were being cut down and left to rot because the main market only wanted the dark ebony, which not all trees produced. Taylor is buying up all the ebony, dark or light.

Pelikan m600. I am behind on buying. I want to get the transparent-white (before it disappears completly), the turquoise and the not yet released vibrant orange.

I like white or bright colored pens.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
