Hmm. Need to see this up against Jalur Gemilang.

edit: Maureen that is.

A very witty idea.

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

Comparison of Maureen, Jalur Gemilang and Skull & Roses.

Very similar as you can see although JG definitely leans more towards turquoise. Maureen is same tone of blue as S & R but is a darker shade.

This is a very quick iPad photo, and unadjusted. I think you can see the slight difference, although JG is more turquoise IRL.

These inks are all a bit same-y in my opinion: CultPens Robert on the other hand is more interesting......

The papers are cream Tomoe and Mnemosyne Word Cards (whiter with a textured surface)

The Robert seems very appealing to me.

Funny I found the Maureen name, reminds me of names called (to ridicule) in the footballing world.

Thank you very much! I actually really like these two colours themselves, even without the sheen.

Robert is the more interesting one to me, sheeny blue inks are pretty saturated in the market these days....

Do like both of the names though...

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Oh that's funny.... Robert Oster should release an ink called 'Diamine", so then I can ponder if I want to get Diamine from Robert or Robert from Diamine....

Really trying hard not to buy more inks, but Robert looks like nothing else I've got ..... beautiful! Sigh ....

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

I really like their disclaimer... :D

Sheen can be fickle. Everything has to be just right for sheen to show up, so we can't guarantee you'll see sheen when you write with these inks, but they give you a good chance in the right conditions. You need the right combination of ink, pen and paper.

Yes, at least they’re honest. Some ink makers claim sheen for certain inks but it just doesn’t happen or only appears if ink is practically sprayed on with a firehose.

These two from Cultpens showed sheen using a fine nib Serendipity :D

I'd have to see reviews of these but I can see myself wanting at least the "Robert" ink (it's an interesting color). I get plenty of sheen already from some blue inks I have, including Diamine Oxford Blue (that one even got sheen on crummy absorbent Piccadilly paper!) so I'd have to see if the "Maureen" ink filled a niche or not (I have a LOT of blue inks, and I also gets lots of sheen from Akkerman Shocking Blue). But "Maureen is certainly going to be on my "maybe" list....

Thanks for posting the info. And, well, not.... :wallbash:

Migo, thank you for the comparisons.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thank you Migo. No need to import JG from Malaysia when it runs out :)

Don't understand though why Diamine would release 3 very similar blue shade ink with monster sheening even though each one is store exclusive

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China. With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters. Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed. And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments.. I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
