Waterman Fp Identification

All,

I've gone to the Waterman site and did some research on the internet and am stumped as to what model I have. I no longer have the receipt and can't remember where I bought it. I broke the nib on the pen and want to replace it thus my reason for help in finding the model number. Some photos.

Any help is appreciated - I know that it is not an ultra expensive pen by any means but I do enjoy writing with it and would like to continue to do so.

Cheers,

Barry

Waterman Expert SECOND generation (It is not Waterman Expert, the first)

Thank you so much for the assist - now I just need to find a nib. I found a place in Europe that had them for a decent price but they don't ship to the US. I noticed a link to waterman resources on the site here so I will go check that out.

I wonder if a Jinhao nib would fit in there....i never had an Expert, but i imagine the nib quality would be close to a modern chinese nib.

This in case you can`t source a cheap nib locally. Also i imagine that for the price of a new nib you can find a used pen in good condition. So it depends more on what that particular Expert is worth to you.

Waterman OUCH, I mean Expert; it might very much be worthwhile to ask how much a nib expert would charge to fix it, vs the price of a new one, just search for fountain pen nib repair, others might recommend someone.

You might try our member Dutchpen. He used to have parts on many Waterman models.

Send him a PM.

He's helped me with some Waterman parts.

I've also had decent luck on eBay and Amazon for nibs/sections

My fingers are always inky and I'm always looking for something new.  Interested in trading?  Contact me!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
