When does old become new? When Nettuno Fountain Pens, originating in 1911, returns to current production! Yes, Delta Pen Co-Founder, Nino Marino, is back in business, head of the Italian Pen Manufacturer, Maiora Pen Company, making beautiful fountain pens for us with his Nettuno 1911 line of luxury writing instruments! Take a look at these 3 amazing treasures in the attached photo. Note the attractive packaging as well. From top to bottom, their model names are: Nereo, Oceano and Petra Waves. The top pen--Nereo--reminds me of three vintage fountain pens, Wahl Eversharp Deco Band in the Nacre finish, Waterman Patrician in a Black and Pearl finish, and Sheaffer Lifetime Balance in a Black and Pearl finish. So that's a contemporary fountain pen with a vintage look. In person, all three are remarkably gorgeous, or, as a pen friend put it...Sweet! Nereo is inked with Diamine Jet Black, Oceano is inked with Pelikan Royal Blue, and Petra Waves is also inked with Diamine Jet Black. The free-of-charge, included converter is threaded and seats firmly into the section thus eliminating risk of falling out. I cannot find one negative aspect about these fountain pens, although I like a snug fit when posting the cap.

And the Nettuno 1911 fountain pens have an ideal weight and size and a comfortable grip. Premier nib manufacturer, Bock, was commissioned to produce nibs designed by Nettuno 1911, and they are really special with their frosted-like finish and responsive, smooth performance--clearly among the best writing steel nibs I have experienced in the past 30 years. Fit and finish--superior! The cap is secure yet easy to remove with minimal turns required. I am a value buyer not a price buyer so what you get for what you pay means more than price alone, which is only a number. In today's market, there are very few fountain pen manufacturers offering a lifetime warranty--and Nettuno 1911 provides us with this important guarantee. The highly-regarded, Pen Chalet, is an authorized Nettuno 1911 Dealer/Retailer, and as a pen merchant, they go above and beyond in customer service. Oh, Holiday gift-giving season will be here soon!

I am glad to know that the original Delta inspiration is taking other artistically productive routes (besides Leonardo Officina)

I'm already planning to get this one...

Don't get too carried away with your "Lifetime Guarantee" writepen. I can't count the number of pens I have with lifetime guarantees.... but no company to honor it.

Just saying..........

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
