Greetings from the Fountain Pen Association of India (FPAI)!!!

FPAI was established with the objective of promoting the fountain pen hobby and allowing us to do what we like to do and do it even better in a more enhanced and enriched manner.

After a long, trying and patient wait from the establishment of the FPAI, we are extremely happy to announce that all formalities for the functioning of the Association have been completed and we are now accepting memberships. In order to become a member, kindly visit us on https://www.fpai.co.in/, download the membership form and follow the process outlined there.

We would like to invite all of you to join us and make the Association a truly wholesome place for all Fountain Pen enthusiasts. Also, as you may already be aware, the FPAI is planning its 1st Fountain Pen & Ink Exhibition on the 7th and the 8th of October, 2018, to be held at the Coomaraswamy Hall at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, formerly The Prince of Wales Museum(tentatively), in Mumbai.

We are currently working towards the exhibition and we wholeheartedly welcome any support that you think would take the exhibition to an even higher level. If you are able to contribute to the exhibition in kind or cash or by bringing in sponsors, please do get in touch with one of us to discuss the possibilities.

As always, we appreciate the support that you have shown is in the past and hope to receive your support and encouragement in the future as well. Our first step, the exhibition in October, is in Mumbai, but we hope and plan to be truly an Association for all the Fountain Pen enthusiasts across India and have events across the country.

Please feel free to reach out to us on fpassoind@gmail.com

Best Regards,

The Board of Managers,
Fountain Pen Association of India

I requested from them:

It would be very good if you could bring out every year a pdf catalogue with all the Indian pens - pictures, data and prices.
Make it a free catalogue which people could download and browse to choose which pens to buy.
Have a look here how such a catalogue can be done:
Good luck.

Fountain Pen Association of India

Thanks for starting this thread.

I am one of the Board of Managers of the Fountain Pen Association of India and we had India's first Fountain Pen show and exhibition on 7th and 8th October.

It was well attended on both days.

There were a large number pens, inks, paper belonging to private individuals on display and we also had a few vendors displaying and selling their products.

I will try and share some pics and videos, and please do get in touch if you have any more suggestions or need any clarifications.

Cheers

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
