I have several Pelikans in M205 - M805. On a handful of these, the slim ring which hold the pocket clip in place ones loose. Is there a technique or tool to screw these things back on without damage? I can't get enough purchase on the small rings with my large hands.

A rubber glove can work. Be careful not to press too hard as that will actually make it harder to turn, not easier. You want friction / grip for turning but little pressure.

I have medium sized hands so had no problem...the couple times I unscrew the Final to polish a cap and clip on Vintage pens.

 

I have a slew of Pelikans and hardly ever had to unscrew the Final.

If loose...very seldom..., just tighten it down with my fingers.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

 

 

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.

You can use a little rubber grip. I like the Goulet Grip but a rubber band wrapped around the cap nut can make it easy to get the purchase you need to tighten it up.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
