Three Grails In A Day :)

Would you care, at some moment, to post some writing sample with the flex EF of your beautiful 149 silver rings? Thank you in advance.

Sure! Please excuse my terrible handwriting:

The 149 has long tines and it has this really unique feedback. It’s smooth but I can tell that I am writing. It is a distinct kind of writing pleasure.

The 244 is smooth without feedback, wet and even more flexi than the 149.

The 144 needs a nib change as the nib it came with was damaged. I’ll post up a writing sample once it’s changed!

Wow! Those tines on the 149 are a lot like the Ancoras I have. Incredibly bouncy configuration.

Its very unique in comparison to any other pen I have. Im so happy with the variety it has added to my collection

Also, the 144 and 149 have now competed my 14x celluloid collection:

Thank you very much. It is a really special nib you have. I never saw one like your before, as the Meisterstücks of that time usually have quite broad shoulders, tapering to the tip almost like a triangle. Yours is beautiful!

What a fantastic collection! A beautiful set. Congratulations!

Of course, you do know that no collection is ever 'complete'? ( We're going to need a bigger box!")

Enjoy.

I noticed the feedback on the 149 was starting to cause some issues :) So, I took a closer look and noticed an issue with the nib. But, I managed to fix it:

Then the 244 leaked in the my shirt! So, I managed to open it up today and will re-cork soon. The hardest part is done anyway:

Next, the 144 will get a nib change as the current one is damaged.

Nice. Hope you've got deep pockets!

Great work on the pens.

Always nicely laid out and explained. Useful advice and tips for us all.

Thanks for sharing.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
