Bock Nibs In Twsbi

I recall reading somewhere that TWSBI can be configured with Bock nibs but I cannot find the source. Can anyone confirm and if so which pens and nibs? They hold a ton of ink and fit great in my hand. But the nibs are not great.

Thank you!

A Bock #6 fit my 700r no problem. I think that may be the only one that uses #6 nibs. At one point the 700 was shipped with Bock nibs before they switched to Jowo. Note it's the bare nib not a Bock nib housing/unit that can be used in the 700/700r.

I have not heard of other models that work with the smaller Bock nibs. I have never seen anything wrong with Jowo nibs. Maybe yours needs tuning or something.

Hi Challer61

Beaufort Ink in the UK is the main source of Bock Nibs. We are possibly the largest distributors of their nibs worldwide. TWSBI pens will take either a standard size 6, a standard size 5, or a short size 5 depending on the model.

Thanks for your clarification. I am using no 6 EF nib (sourced from your store) successfully in Vac 700. Which Bock nib can be fitted in TWSBI ECO ?

An ECO takes a standard size 5 (type 180), and just as with your VAC700, you'll need to swap the new nib into your existing TWSBI housing.

I hope that helps

Thanks. Yes, I did the same, just swapped no 6 Bock nib in my Vac 700 section. Just used the nib. Feed used is the one from TWSBI. TWSBI nib also fits well in the Bock no 6 housing.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
