I think I would like the ballpoint.

I bit the bullet and ordered my first Pelikan. I believe the M205 Olivine is a nice way to start breeding. :D

A good choice, green and RT go well.

Let the breeding commence...

Anyone know if these are shipping yet? Seems like I haven't seen anyone post the obligatory "Mine came today :bunny01: " message...

Thank you. I could not resist my favorite color. I see the flock expanding quickly. :yikes:

I ordered mine from Pen Chalet. According to their website, they will be in stock on October 11th. I should have mine by the following Monday.

And yes, I will take plenty of photos when it arrives. :)

I love the color. But the M205 is a little bit too small for me, at least for longer writing. I can resist buying...for now.

Thanks folks! No, not anxious... but, uh, it seems like awhile since the last Pelikan arrived.

Mine arrived 9/27. Love the look. Nicest one since Aquamarine.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Not being familiar with Pelican's new steel nibs ( old ones either ) I am trying to decide which to get . I tend to like a broad if there is little or no flex but have several other brands with a bit of flex that are Fine that I love . Any advice ?

I purchased a steel fine nib. Here is a bad photo for an idea.

I do not like Pelikan nibs but I am seriously tempted to get one of these. The real world colour (as opposed to Pelikan photoshop) really works for me (and yes I know I could buy a pre 1970s Pelikan and swap nibs).

I too was worried about the color when I had seen on the Pelikan site. But in person, all doubts went away. You will not be disappointed.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
