Thank you all for posting about this, I was considering an Asa pen but now I will look for the Ranga models I like to come back into stock instead, I hope that nothing serious is happening to Mr. Subramaniam but I cannot do business with someone who operates like this.

all of this is making me nervous. I have an overdue pen ordered in November, with no responses to my inquiries. I've been a fan of ASA for a while, and have several pens from there, but this lack of responsiveness is unsettling.

Dear Sir,

I lost my father in law after a brief period of illness on 23rd December and again sudden demise of my father on 1st Jan 2019. A bad start to my year and two unbearable personal losses.

I have not been able to answer or update queries here, as I have been extremely disorganised. My sincere apologies.

Please do address your queries here in PM or to my email id unik.services@hotmail.com or Whatsapp me at +919176607660

Best Regards

Subramaniam

my most recent order arrived today and I am really enjoying it. An ASA Galactic, a large clear demonstrator eyedropper. Writes great! Given what Mr. Subramaniam has been dealing with the \past several weeks, the delay was certainly understandable. I plan on buying from him again soon.

I was also looking to order a couple of his pens and was starting to wonder if something was wrong as his site would not respond. Now I understand. I feel deeply for his losses and the sorrow must be unbearable. I have hope that he can get past this. He is such a personal part of our community that his loss is also ours.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
