Nibs - Gold Seal Flexible + # 2 For We Doric 1. + 2. Generation

Hello,

I am looking for a Wahl - Eversharp "Gold Seal" - nib, "flexible", which writes thin F (possibly - BB), for a Doric Oversize, 2nd Gen (in the picture No. 6, Marocco).

I might also need an elastic nib # 2, writing thin for a Doric (junior) of the 1st generation (in the picture No. 1, Kashmir).

If something is unclear, I can supply the measurements and photos of the nibs and pens.

I'm still looking for a Gold Seal nib for the Doric Marocco.

I haven't received an offer here yet.

Do I have to look in another category?

Pelikan, Skyline, Parker - I do own these pens also ...and more of it. But I usually write with softer nibs of Eversharp, Mabi&Todd, Waterman.

It ist very difficult to get a Gold Seal. It's not difficult to get # 2 - so I have to be patient ...

I put a #4 Mabie Todd dip nib in a Doric ringtop and it’s a wonderful writer. It might actually be easier to find a dip nib than what you’re looking for. Syd Saperstein, of course, might have a drawerful of what you’re looking for, so I’d suggest you communicate with him.

Thank you for your post.

I asked Syd again, if he has such a nib on offer.

I would like to replace my somewhat rigid Gold Seal - replacement for the original defective Gold Seal - from a Danish Eversharp, which has flexible printing, but that is not.
I am not primarily interested in writing with the Doric, but in writing with the flexible Gold Seal nib in that Doric.

So a possible replacement by a completely different nib is not a solution for me.

But thank you for the hint. I don't know this.
I also own serveral Mabi&Todd pens and nibs - also a # 4 in Swan 4460 + 1041- and I know, that Gold Seal nibs are rarely traded and relatively expensive. So I have to be patient.

Greetings,

Actually, I might have a Doric with the nib you’re looking for. The pen (a Gold Seal in Morocco) has a bad case of the rot but the nib’s a #2 Flexible - I don’t see the words “gold seal” on it but it is a nice flexy nib...in a Fine.

You might be able to give it a good home.

Thanks!

A nib # 2 is rather smaller and can't be compaired with a Gold Seal (I suppose # 4). I own several # 2. So it's a pitty.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
