New Custom Fountain Pens... Now With Flat Spots

I got a couple new pens made. I was finally able to get a mill in my shop... so now I can make pens with facets, flat spots, or whatever you choose to call not round pens. This first one is a Conway Stewart acrylic blank and has flats on 2 sides. Its a little bigger pen at almost 6 inches long and 18mm around, but I was worried I wouldn't have enough meat on the pen to do the flats (don't ask how I know :o ). The second one is made from a material that I think I need to go to a 12 step program to become unaddicted to. I have made about 15 pens out of this wild orchid acrylic stuff and constantly have the urge to make more. Anywho, I think it came out pretty good. All of the pens are available right now at www.jandjwooddesigns.net. I would love to hear what everybody thinks. Thank you for looking and stay tuned for pens with flutes/grooves in them. Thats next on my to do list.

Very Nice.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
