Originally from Edinburgh, now in Denver, having been one or two places in between.
First FP probably an Osmiroid in the early 1970s, with an italic nib. Quink washable blue. Next was a decent Parker, from Brown's the Stationer on Nicholson Street, sadly stolen around 1984 (the date, place, and time I can still pinpoint with some accuracy and I will have my vengeance). Stayed with Parker, parlayed with Pelikan (too pricey), and have knocked about with Germans and Americans ever since. Currently discovering Cross, which I had always dismissed as belonging to the gift and luggage set. Currently in a relationship with a gold-tipped Townsend of a certain age, and very happy.
Between you and me, as a way of kindling a Japanese interest, I have considered forming a refuge for unwanted Nakaya Decapods, and can offer to reimburse postage.
