Hi everyone, just thought I let those who knew the pen guy that he passed away this weekend. He was a great guy who was always happy to share his knowledge and love of Esterbooks and fountain pens in general.

I didn't realize it but, yes it looks like he did pass away in St. Louis which was about 2 hours from home for him. 

 

There was a nice tribute on the local radio station (the radio station is owned by the newspaper where he was editor). If you'd like to hear what local people thought of John check this out: http://www.news-gaze...r-your-thoughts

Saw John at the St Lewis pen show, his passing at the show was a sad happening at an otherwise great show. May I be so lucky at my passing to be somewhere doing something that I love! Rest in Peace John...

I'm sad to hear this.  While I never met him, I believe we each did some pen business with each other over the past few years.
