My scanner refused to pick up these ink colors correctly. I corrected it a bit, but the Aonibi is still super wrong. It's pretty awful. Oh well. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's submissions!

Aonibi is a difficult ink to capture. It always turns out much bluer/purpler in scans.

Kobe #57 is way to light for my liking in the writings, but it looks very attractive in the doodles!

Another stunning piece thank you crahptacular! I'll think of something and grab a couple of colors.

EDIT:

J. Herbin 1670 Anniversaire Rouge Hematite.

Kaweco Sommerlila.

Rohrer & Klingner Verdigris and Verdura.

Verdura is such a great color, I'm so glad I bought it.

I like the purple birdie just the way she is. She seems to be doing a happy dance, or singing a happy song.

And Kaweco Summer Purple is very nice ink. I like the way it shades even in finer nibs.

I need to put inks together for this thread. The problem is narrowing the list down. I have too many pens in rotation as it is at the moment.... And the current list of inks I really like is just way too large....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

My combo of the month is my all-time favourite purple/violet/magenta ink - R&K Solferino - and a recent purchase - Diamine Calligraphy Passion:

How lovely is that when the sheen colour of one ink matches the colour of the other ink?

Some weird string "art work":

Well, thanks everyone the pictures and colours are beautiful.

Unfortunately, I feel embarrassed about my dark colours and lack of pictures. I use my pens and inks for writing only, and brush pens and markers for (my very poor attempts at) drawing.

Nice choices Noihvo! I don't find Pilot BB boring. I think it's a dependable ink and quite pretty with a subtle sheen. I've never used Nikita but it looks not bad here, especially with the shading.

(I hope you've put the blue ink in the red pen and the red ink in the blue pen :D :D )

Better late than never - my entry for this month:

- Diamine Aqua Lagoon

- Monteverde FireOpal

- Herbin Emerald Of Chivor

I have to admit I just went for my 3 favourite inks, without thinking it too much in terms of match.

And of course the pics you'd rightly expect at each mention of Her Majesty EOC:

So pretty! I particularly love your letter styles matching the sketches and the ink name!

And EoC's colour and sheen matches the other two inks as well.

Just before the deadline ... the entry for my favourite inks. These include Robert Oster Verde de Rio, which is my top choice for 2017 - a beautiful grass-green ink. And for 2018 thus far, the ink I like the most is Mont Blanc Swan Illusion Plume, which charmed me with its dusty grey-brown tones.

Wow! I hadn't heard of Fire Opal. How similar is it to Diamine Ancient Copper, if you have ability to compare?

Noivho, I love that TWISS pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
