Pen Cases Like Nock Sinclair?

Man, I love the Nock Sinclair, but it's a little pricey and Amazon has me spoiled -- I loathe paying shipping!

Is there anything similar on the mass market?

My fingers are always inky and I'm always looking for something new.  Interested in trading?  Contact me!

The prices on nock cases seem very reasonable and the quality exceeds expectations. Not sure you will get similar much cheaper so will watch this thread and see what others can find.

In what respect do you imagine you are not paying shipping from Amazon, other than it not appearing on your invoice?

I loathe paying shipping!

Then drive, take a bus or taxi to your local b&m store. See how that works out for you!

I have to agree with previous posters that the Nock cases are absolutely the best cases for the price. Here's a thread detailing my experience:

If you really object to "paying" for shipping, there are many sites that offer "free" shipping on orders over a certain amount.

While there may be some who take issue with your desire to avoid paying a shipping charge as a separately billed item for your purchase, I note you have recently made two PIF's and did not ask for any shipping fee for those PIF's, so I applaud you for practicing what you also desire.

As for the Nock Sinclair, I suggest you take a close look at the Nock Hightower instead. The Nock Hightower is not encumbered (my opinion) by a zipper closure. The Hightower is SO EASY to use, just fold open and flip up the cover over the enclosed pens to access those pens. Flip the cover back down and fold to close.

I have a bunch of the Hightower cases. In two of them, I carry an LED pen light which is a similar size and shape to a fountain pen. I purchased those pen lights from Ron Zorn, mainstreetpens.com in the section labeled "Stuff".

I second (or third) that the cases are reasonably priced if you consider the quality and the effort put in to make them. I could be wrong, but to my knowledge there’s also really nothing else out there that’s similar in design and material. My favorites are the Lookout and Sinclair. I don’t like wraps so the Brasstown wasn’t for me. Keep in mind Nock Co is also a really small company, with products made in the USA, so they can’t offer mass-produced and/or made in [fill in cheap labor country] pricing.

They have a free shipping code on their website for over $75. Otherwise, you can purchase from retailers who offer free shipping for lesser purchase amounts. Their selection of Nock cases just might be limited. Pen Chalet, Goulet Pens, Anderson, and Goldspot to name a few.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
