Which Staedtler Model Is?

Hello

I hope this question is here in right place.

Do you know which STAEDTLER Model is this?

It says "Tradition" but it also shows as well the head of Mars on the clip.

Any additional information about this fountain pen is highly appreciated, for instance the years in which this pen has been manufactured.

Many thanks for your input.

Best regards

Thomas

No, STAEDTLER, was a solid second tier pen. I chased others.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Thanks, does it mean it is not a STAEDTLER Pen? Or what do you mean?

I chased Geha, Pelikan, Osmia more. I did see an occasional Staedtler at flea markets but was chasing other brands.

Thanks, I have a selection of Pelikan pens and 2 STAEDTLER Mars. 1 STAEDTLER Tradition 4228, 1 Geha 701, 1 Garant Alkor and use most of them, at least from time to time.

Best regards from Karlsruhe

I'm from Heidelberg.

Saw the Etruscan exhibition, at the Karlsruhe Palace middle of last week. Their oldest...but smaller pottery was the most delicate I've ever seen. I went back a second time just to stare at it.

The Greek pottery they later imported was so much thicker. Larger had to be thicker I guess.

The Etruscans had a very good civilization; the women had more rights than in Rome or Greece.

A 28 volume history of the Etruscans and a study of their language was written by a famous Roman Emperor......but was lost.

The Etruscan civilization was so much bigger than I imagined. 9/10's of Italy north of Rome. But was splintered into city states, so 'tiny' Rome could beat them up and conquer them. The Greeks had strong influence on them too. That too surprised me.

Got to go to the Natural History museum, to see the 'Ice Age'. And the Art Decco&Juganstyle one on Markt platz.

For those who don't know, Karlsruhe was the first 'green' city. The Duke was sleeping in his coach, and had a geometrical dream, and made a huge park and forest to go with his brand new huge palace; from his dream. He left his wife at the old castle. So enjoyed himself.

The iron fence at the start of the palace grounds, was made by a famous master blacksmith, is one of the top smithed work in Europe.

Took a special drive to Karsruhe a couple of decades ago, just to see that fence.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
