Help Me To Authenticate/identify This Duofold Model

Hi

yesterday I took a gamble and brought home a vintage Parker Duofold model from a local shop. It costed around $110. The pen looks and writes really good. However, i am a bit concerned about few things.

First of all, I am not exactly sure which model of duofold this is. The Pen measures about 13.5cm capped and 16.5cm posted. The barrel imprint says 'Geo. S Parker Duofold Lucky Curve fountain pen USA'. It has a giant nib with an imprint 'Parker Duofold pen made in USA'

It has a button filling system. I dont think the cap band belongs to the pen. My guess is, the original one fell off and this particular band was fitted in its place. Also, the clip looks a bit odd. The 'PARKER' font is not ruler straight and looks a bit different compared to some other duofold clips I saw on the internet. Also, there are no other markings on the clip. It will be greatly appreciated if someone can identify/authenticate this for me. I am attaching the images below.

Thank You

Although I have had quite a few over the years I'm not an expert on Parkers and so hopefully one of the experts will chip in soon. It looks like a some sort of Moderne, but I'm not sure how they describe that colour (difference between cap and barrel over the years is quite normal).

If you haven't already found it then the Parker Penography is a great resource.....

Thanks. But i have already gone through the site. Couldn't find any useful information.

I think Its a streamlined senior. I dont know about the cap band. HTH.

Thanks. And yes, the original band has been replaced with this (maybe due to damage or something else). I have seen some Streamlined pens on the internet. None of them had a 'Lucky Curve' imprint on the barrel. Also, I am unable to find any mention of the exact color as well.

May be a flat top barrel with all else from a streamlined Duofold? I have a raised single wide band flat top senior that when I bought it was stuffed with a press fit streamlined senior section. Fotunately the threads on flat top barrel were still intact. So I was able to replace the section with a correct one belonging to the flat top senior.

What does the imprint say? Does it have a date code? That may help you narrow it down some.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

No imprint on clip. The barrel has a number after 'USA PAT'. Its 4-25-11

This is the imprint on the barrel. A fist generation flat top lucky curve banner imprint. Isn't it?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
