Hi all,

Do you have any idea where can i buy the Montblanc 149 clip? I want only clip.

I know that the ebay is the best choose but there is no listing for 149 clip.

I am little bit hurry up, and can't wait when someone will be sell it on ebay.
So if you have any idea, or know any store of Montblanc parts, please let me know.
Thank you

If your pen is missing or has a damaged clip, you can give it to Montblanc direct. Depending where you are dictates how much time itll take, here in Dubai theyll do it on the spot in the boutique. Other places they have to send the pen to a service center.

The clip has damage.
I have already wrote to service center and as they told me that if i'll send the pen to service center, it'll be need much time ebout 4-6 monthes. That's too much. I can't wait 6 monthes.
The local pen master told me that it will be repaired but can't give any warranty. So i don't want repaired clip you know :( will be better if i will find used or new one.

As you said, eBay is a waiting game also. You never know.

I would say if you travel frequently take it with you, in a big city flagship boutique it can be done on the spot and/or within 1 week if the service center is nearby to them.

Also, the individuals who usually post parts on eBay may not post a part currently but they may have one in their inventory. Search who they are and contact them.

Try Steve from NW Fine Jewelers for example.

Did they explain why it would take so long? I've sent many pens to Hamburg and had various jobs done, including a clip and cone replacement with a service (the clip and cone did cost extra), and when I've posted directly never had to wait for more than 2 weeks.

So i've contacted the local boutique's service. They explained that with shipping and time for repair will need much time. Now i will write to Montblanc web-service center and see what they'll do say.

Thanks

I would certainly do that. The MB website is currently quoting a 2 week turnaround for pens ..... I have posted two pens from the UK to Hamburg and had them returned to my home address in 8 days (but that was exceptional).

ps ... I think that once I did have to wait about 3 weeks

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
