I've been waiting months for this Group Buy to come along - Model 8B with JoWo nibs! Ordered a premium ebonite (blue/pink/pale yellow swirl) threaded to take a JoWo nib...

Many thanks M.P. Kandan and Ranga Pens.

[Edited to add:] I've opted for clipless, as with most of my Rangas - they're too long to clip into my shirt pocket anyway, and I think the clip detracts from the look of the pen, rather than adding to it!

Can you identify the materials in the lower photos please?

The last 4 photos, I'm fairly certain, are:

Blue/Pink/Pale Yellow Swirl (P14)

Solid Forest Green (S1) in Bakul (matte) finish

Teal Blue / Orange Ripple (S20) in polished finish

Forest Green / Honey Ripple (S3) in polished finish.

That last one I'm *less* certain about - but I can't see any pens in the line-up that look closer in colour. My Model C in forest green / honey ripple is somewhat darker, and the colours follow a 'swirl' pattern similar to the blue-orange ripple pen immediately above it...

Hi Mr. Kandan,

I was very much looking forward to this group buy too! Form submitted. I requested a polished clipless model in S20 (teal/orange) threaded to take Bock 250 but without the nib unit.

*Payment made

Especially excited at the new premium ebonite offerings - and that some of the standard options are available again.

I got one before the group buy and it is really a well made classic shaped pen. Reminds me of the Oldwin fountain pen.

Now I feel like I want another in a different color. Hmmm...choices galore....

:P what you think of me is none of my business ;)

@mehandiratta, thanks for the correction - that possibility occurred to me, but it didn't look quite like the P7 pen in the other pictures!

I myself have booked for two pens

Very tempted to do the same - some of the colour options haven't been available for a long time!

Sent and pyment for model S17, No Nib - Threaded for JoWo #6.

*Mr. Kandan, I have noticed that the ripple in some pens, from the cap go in the opposite direction to the barrel, Is it possible to ensure the correct direction of the barrel S17 photo?

Thanks.

I'm in for another clipless one, this one with an Indian flex nib. Excited about that. This time it will be in special ebonite, polished, color teal (S7) swirl.

@mhguda, I'm sure you'll love the material: I have a teal blue / orange ripple bamboo pen, in bakul finish - more orange swirls than blue in mine, but it's a great colour combination!

Too tempting! Just added a yellow/black to the red/black ..... Fine and extra-fine Bock nibs, one yellow, one chrome, both clipless and polished ebonite.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
