I Had A Small Box Of Waterman Cartridges Lying Around...

...and later, came across my old red/black Waterman pen. It's not pretty or vintage, but I put one of the two cartridges left in the box into the pen, wet the nib, and tried writing. Nice! It's smoother than either of my working Schaeffer's. I think I'll keep it.

Waterman have been making good pens for ages. Waterman sort of invented the modern fountain pen.

And their pens are still good writers.

My only gripe with the they seem to have abandoned designing something new. They are retracting models slowly. Pity.

Their current design team appear to be concentrating on cosmetic modifications to existing 'old' designs. Hemisphere and Experts in the main.

 

The only model that has had no mechanical mods is the Carene. They have though added or changed lacquer colours/designs which have been boring to say the least.
