1912 Heritage Fp

I have seen this several times in boutiques, but never tried it out. Until yesterday.

I had high expections from all the praise on here, but even they were surpassed. What a great feeling, great looking and responsive pen! I happened to try an F nib, which was brilliant. I have ordered a new one in and should be collecting it any day now.

I was meant to be holding out for one or more of the limited editions later in the year, but it would be wrong not to have the 1912 in my collection!

Grats, 1912 is truly a unique pen. We look forward to your show off pictures soon :)

This may be controversial, but my instinct was that this beats the 146/149.

Not at all. The heritage 1912 is my absolute favourite. The current 149 is a close second. I find the nib action on the Heritage 1912 absolutely spectacular.

I love my 1912, but I don't compare them to my 149's or 146's, simply because they are different pens, not necessarily better or worse, just different. Congratulations on your new acquisition.

Also using my 1912 F nib as my daily driver at work, together with my Meisterstück Le Grand ballpoint. Awesome combo!

I had the fortune of trying one the other day. Dropped by a MB boutique. They didn't have any in stock, but the manager let me try her personal 1912. So beautiful

My fingers are always inky and I'm always looking for something new.  Interested in trading?  Contact me!

I love mine and it has been continuously inked since I received it. I don't compare it to my 149 or my M800s though. Different pen entirely. Writes very well. and I just love the feel of the nib. Congrats.

I agree. What nib size do you have on that Heritage 1912? I just switched mine from a fine to an oblique broad.

The Heritage 1912 has been the revelation of the year for me.

I bought one having never seen one in real life, and it surpassed all my expectations.

Mine has a F nib, but in reality it’s a perfect soft M. I believe these nibs tend to run a little wider than usual.

meiers, mine is a Medium and it writes a line very close to the M nib on the Pilot VP I have inked right now. An OB would be lots of fun! But then, my inventory program says I've overdone it on fat nibs on my last year's acquisitions... I know, I know, "bad Horace, no cookies for you"

I am contemplating a Heritage 1912 in medium. M for magnificent.

There were some saying the 1912 was a special edition produced in more limited numbers than standard production pens and some said that it's no longer in production some time back.

I still see them on sale at my local MB boutiques, so they're either balance stock or those statements above untrue?

There was another 1912 release, much pricier and a very limited run. I haven’t seen stated the regular (plastic) version being limited on behalf of MB anywhere. Some users said that, but I think that’s misinformation.

You mean a re-release of the same pen, or of a different material?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
