I've just joined in the past week and am learning a great deal from reading the threads. This forum is amazing!

 

A little about myself:

 

Have used art supplies, pens, and pencils since the age of about 2 and a half, I am something of an art supplies junkie, and despite having a collection of Sheaffer No Nonsense nibs and a (currently misplaced) No Nonsense pen from the 1980's, somehow interest in fountain pens hadn't hit me 'til now.

 

Now, though? I'm goner...!

 

I've been catching up for the past 3 weeks on everything I've missed. Which, of course, is impossible. But with everything available in this forum, I think I have a good shot at catching up on quite a lot. The quality of the posts is simply breathtaking.

 

Thank you, everyone, for making my education engrossing and fun!

 

And that's about it really. I'm looking forward to learning more about the fountain pen world and collecting a few choice pens.

 

And yes, I realize there's no such thing as a "few". It's like anything else I love, whether it's Prismacolor pencils (before they cut corners in manufacturing) or beads, where there's one, why not two? If not two, how about a few? Why not a slew? I'll want more. ;)

Hi from another fellow FPN newbie and art supply fanatic :D I was a Prismacolor junkie as well, and I do still collect beads, too, although at a less frantic rate these days ;) Currently trying to fight the urge to collect wax seals... I think the wax seals are winning :P

Nevermind me! I'm just an inkling, a mere pigment of your imagination...

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
