My only yellow pen, and most recent pen purchase, is this Fontoplumo exclusive - Kaweco Sport "Sunrise".

But I'm sure it won't be my one and only after seeing others in this thread.

Wow, that bright yellow makes a real statement! Are these only available through Fontoplumo?

I believe they are.

There are two version, "Sunrise" with silver trim and "Sunset" with gold colored trim and though they are bright I find the color very happy and pleasing.

Thanks! John Mottishaw at nibs.com tunes every pen he sells, free of charge. I buy all my Sailors there unless they don't carry what I'm looking for.

He did tune every pen purchased. Nowadays, it may be John or it may be not John.

Too many pens; too little writing.

Absolutely! Welcome to the yellow side haha.

I only have two yellow pens so far, a Hero 616-2 which my son confiscated because yellow is his favorite color and a Sheaffer No-Nonsense, but this thread has opened up a new world of yellowness for me. Sadly, most of these pens are out of my price range. :bawl:

That's the Baoer 801, MkII. Decent wee writer, for the price.

Sadly, these seem to be impossible to find now, even when living in China. After much searching, I could only find one yellow version available on Taobao, but the seller looked like a scam and hadn't sold anything before, so I didn't want to take the risk. So sad, because it'd be one of the least expensive yellow and black pens out there if available! :gaah:

I couldn't sleep last night, so I did what any sensible person would do and spent hours scouring the Chinese internet for any decent looking and affordable yellow pens (excluding copies of Western pens like Safaris). Here's what I found:

Aurora Ipsilon. Have the fountain pen and roller ball set.

This pen is definitely on my wishlist to buy the next time I'm Stateside!

post-140880-0-02907500-1537014711_thumb.jpegThis is my just arrived yellow fountain pen. It is a Nagasawa Kobe Memo, based on a Sailor Slim Progear. Like most Sailors, it started out as a cartridge converter pen, but is now just a cartridge pen. Flashy little pocket pen.

Congratulations! I've been eyeing these on eBay lately. Is the yellow more egg-yolk style (that's how it appears on my monitor) or is it a bright "Ferrari" style yellow?

Was there not a yellow and a red M7xx Toledo issued about 10-15 years ago? If memory serves, they were white gold/platinum/sterling clad, and I seem to remember that Classic Pens had them in inventory - don't see them there now.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
