It will be interesting to see if the fake Ondoro will have a better sealing than the actual Ondoro...

@OP, both Delike pens are available on e-bay. I can pm you links if you 'd like (not affiliated yada yada)

Huh, the Ondoro has a faulty cap?

In my experience F-Cs dry out a little too easily. Have had more than 6 (Emotions, Ondoros and Looms) and still have 3.

And although I absolutely love my Emotions, finding the converter half empty within a week bugs me quite a bit.

I have one of the Delike Ondoro copies. Rather well made pen, all things considered. It doesn't dry out at all compared to some of the Faber-Castell's I've owned (never owned an Ondoro, though)

Ah, I see, you got the fude nib, it might be nice to try that

Yes. the fude/art nib is turning out to be a winner. I much prefer it to the Delike EF nibs.

I have a Delike F nib I've yet to try out. It's supposed to be about the same width (0.58mm) as the the fude (0.6mm) so that might also prove interesting.

Oh wow, I've been looking at the ondoro for ergonomic reasons and find out there is a Chinese copy now (though not super cheap). How is the nib? Is the pen heavy, because I gather the black ondoro is pretty light since made of plastic?

The nib was pretty decent, I got the EF with the upturned tip. The body on the Delike is wood with a metal inlay at the threads, so it's pretty light. This also means that it has the same flaw as the Ondoro: The cap is way heavier than the body and it becomes super back heavy when posted.

Does the section feel the same as the real Ondoro? Is it comfortable?

Do you think it's worth the 20$? (steep price for a Chinese pen)

Why do you say the nib "was" pretty decent, changed it? to what?

In terms of feel the Delike is nearly identical to the Ondoro. It's quite comfortable to hold and the body and section are well mated with no sharp edges or gaps. I certainly think it's worth the money.

The nib wrote, it was reasonably smooth and I haven't had any issues with skipping or hard starts. I say "pretty decent" because my most recent Chinese pen purchases have mostly been PenBBS pens, and the nibs on those pens have been excellent. The Delike isn't on that level, but it's nowhere near bad enough that I would feel the need to replace the nib. If you don't want the EF there is a medium nib available.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll hold out a bit more because of the price and not sure the section is as rounded as the real Ondoro, which for me was one of the bigger attractions. Do you happen to have both side by side and able to take a picture?

I don't own an Ondoro, my comparison was with one owned by another member of my local pen club.

oh I see. Thanks for the picture. That does look like a beauty. I think I will just buy it :P

Any idea if these nibs are interchangeable in case I want to change the width?

I've tested mine with both a Schmidt and Faber-Castell branded nib and they both worked fine. I ended up putting the original back in because I don't have a lot of EF nibs in my collection.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
