Delay In Ems Delivery?

Hello!

I recently ordered a Pilot Custom823 along with a couple of inks from a Japanese seller. He posted the package on 12 April. It was dispatched from the outward office of exchange on 15th and the information about the package hasn't been updated ever since. It was sent via EMS.

I've checked my local post office and the indiapost site as well. They haven't updated the info since the last 7 days. I've ordered other pens from the seller in the past and they all were delivered to me within 4-5 days since they were posted.

Has someone faced a similar situation? I am really worried since the package is worth around $250 and I'm not sure who should I contact to resolve the problem. :(

Same thing as mentioned in the indiapost website.

The last update was on 15 April and says 'Send item abroad - EDI received'.

It means it has not been inscanned in India yet. I suggest you wait a week and after that if there is still no tracking progress, ask the seller to investigate from his end.

In case you wish to write to me, pls use ONLY email by clicking here. I do not check PMs. Thank you.

In my country I've found that if a package is sent by EMS and its value is relatively high, it may take some time to clear customs and be handed over to the post office for delivery to you. If a copy of the invoice you paid is not easily found it may take even longer. YMMV, of course.

I had a similar experience while ordering my Platinum 3776 Century from Japan. It was only after the item was scanned in the UAE that the info on the Emirates Post site got updated. Try using https://www.17track.net/en.

P.S. Which nib size did you go with? I am pretty sure its a fine. Anyway tell me how it is once it arrives. I am looking to buy this along with my Optima.

I just got my Custom823. It 'reached' chennai customs department on 25th, was with them for a day and now I have received it on 27th.

The pen feels PERFECT, unlike my Pilot Custom74, which I think is too light. It holds a ton of ink which is pretty good since I rarely change my inks.

I feel that the nib is not uber-smooth as I was expecting it to be and it has got a tiny bit of feedback. It still feels good, but is not significantly different from my C74.

I loooove the nib on my VP decimo fine which writes slightly broader than my custom74 fine and literally glides on the paper with almost no feedback whatsoever. But I hate the fact that we can't use Con70 with it, which is a shame since the other Pilot convertors holds very less ink.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
