Hi gang,

Some of you may know me as Bonhams Auctioneers penman-in-chief.  Well, Bonhams is no longer selling pens, and now I'm Director of Pens and Comics for PBA Galleries in San Francisco.  Our debut Fine Pens sale will be held on July 19th.  We're seeking consignments!  Please contact me if you have anything you'd like to add to our auction, or if you'd like to request a catalogue.

If you have friends with pens they might care to consign, refer them to me and PBA will give you a referral fee.

Here's an esoteric lot you'll find in our July sale: a rare Montblanc architect's pen, c.1925.  The sale will feature a number of other early Montblancs, as well as Parkers, Watermans, Namikis, and lots of other nifty pens.

Cheers,

Ivan

Ooh! Very exciting. How can I get a catalogue? If I am in the city on July 19th I will certainly be there.

Hi Shaporama,

If you PM me or email me (ivan@pbagalleries.com) and let me know your email or mailing address, I'll add you to the catalogue list.  Thanks for your interest!

Here's another tasty tidbit, a Parker No. 47 Lucky Curve fountain pen with alternating abalone and mother-of-pearl panels, c.1906, known to us pen peeps as the "Pregnant Parker," due to the graceful curvature of the barrel.  As an online pen pal postulated, "it's all fun and games until she has a litter of ballpoints"...

If I received a postcard about the sale, will I be getting a catalogue as well?

Hi Roger,

Most domestic postcard recipients will receive a copy of the first catalogue, but due to high production and shipping costs, overseas clients must pay $30 for a print catalogue.  Upon request we will email a link to the online catalogue.  Subsequent catalogues will be sent gratis to registrants and bidders in the July sale...

Cheers, Ivan
